Admissions

Starcross Pre-school is registered to take up to 26 children per session. Children may attend as a 'Rising 3' once per week for the four weeks prior to their third birthday, when they must be accompanied by a parent/carer. After their third birthday they may attend unaccompanied, once their sessions have been allocated by the Pre-school Playleaders and the Administrator, although parents may wish to join them until they are more settled in their new surroundings.

The Play Leader will ensure that the parent/carer of new children have had the opportunity to meet with her to discuss their child's needs and to impart information about the pre-school setting and its policies, before they leave their child in the pre-school's care. When filling in the registration form the parent will need to sign to say they have read our policies and procedures.

We also operate a key person system which means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom they have specific responsibilities. When a child joins our setting they then have a special adult who they can relate to.

The Play Leader will also ensure that new children receive a pump bag for a change of clothes, and a labelled coat peg.
