[Colin Wilson]Colin Wilson

Colin Wilson is a singer, songwriter by profession and is currently working for Folk South West delivering Early Years Music in Yeovil. He has also worked with some Key Stage 2 children with song writing and performance courses at Starcross Primary School, written and recorded children's songs for projects.

He will be dropping by with a couple of guitars, small melodian, hand percussion instruments etc. He will be teaching song writing and very basic instrument play (depending on age).

Colin will be at the Star Club on the Wednesday 22 July and Wednesday 5 August from approx 12.30/1.00pm for a workshop lasting just over an hour.

[Helen Brayley from the Mulberry Bush Music Project]Helen Brayley

Helen Brayley, the music teacher from Starcross Primary School, will be at the setting from 10.00am on the 23 July for a workshop lasting just over an hour. Come and have a go at creating a samba band with agogos, tamborims and surdos! Loud and fun!

You'll want to come back for more - or some other stuff!!!!

Helen Rickson

Helen Rickson, a primary school teacher, will be at Star Club on the Monday 3 August from 10.00am for just over an hour, showing us some different dance moves.

Denisa from Little Movers

Denisa from Little Movers, will be popping by on the Tuesday 21 July from 9.30am for approx 45 minutes, for the younger children at our provision. Songs, rhymes, rhythm and movement sessions.

[Dance Leaders]Street Dance Classes

Nicky Jones, from Dance Leaders in Torquay, will be dropping by on Tuesday 28 July and Tuesday 25 August from 10am for approx 1 hour. Places are still available on this workshop, which we hope will be a huge success!

Street Dance can also be known as Hip Hop Dance. The music danced to is normally R & B, Hip Hop and some pop songs.

The classes start with a warm up and some short stretches, followed by some easy dances. Dancers just copy the teacher - it is a bit like dance aerobics. The next part of the class is to learn a routine; the steps are a bit more advanced so they are broken down and taught slowly so that everyone is confident with the move before moving onto the next move. Cool down and stretch to finish.

There is time for everyone to show off their own moves in the freestyle part of the class.

Please note we have the right to cancel and change these planned activities. Please check our daily display board and updates on this webpage.
